What is ABO on Facebook marketing?
Ad Budget Optimization is a Facebook Campaign setting Campaign setting that tells Facebook to manage the Budget at the Adset level.
For example if you have $500 for your ads and you are using ABO, Facebook will spend more of your budget on the best performing ads in an Adset, however Facebook will not spend more than $500 on that Adset.
What is CBO in Facebook marketing?
Campaign Budget Optimization (CBO) is a Facebook setting that tells Facebook to manage your budget on the Campaign level.
For example, if you have $500 for your ads and you are using CBO, Facebook will spend more of your budget on the best performing ads and adset, however Facebook will not spend more than $500 across your entire Campaign.
It is imperative to state here that Facebook campaign is made up of Adsets and an Adset is made up of ads.
What is “Advantage Campaign Budget” in Facebook marketing?
In 2022, Facebook renamed Campaign Budget Optimization (CBO) to Advantage Campaign Budget (ACB).
Advantage Campaign Budget (ACB) manages Facebook budget on the Campaign level.
For example, if you have $500 for your ads and you are using Advantage Campaign Budget, just like CBO, Facebook will spend more of your budget on the best performing ads and adset, however Facebook will not spend more than $500 across your entire Campaign.
How to turn on Campaign Budget Optimization (CBO) on Facebook in 2022
Since Campaign Budget Optimization (CBO) has been renamed Advantage Campaign Budget (ACB), to manage your Facebook ad budget on the Campaign level, you have to turn on Advantage Campaign Budget.
By default Advantage Campaign Budget is turned off so the default Facebook campaign uses Ad Budget Optimization, however if you want to manage your ad Budget at the campaign level, you should turn on “Advantage Campaign Budget” when creating your Facebook Campaign.
You can do that on your Facebook Ads manager campaign settings.
