There are different Tiktok ads testing strategies on the internet and we have tried a number of them but one that seems to work 9 out of 10 times.
It is the Tiktok testing strategy which was first published by a Youtuber called AC hampton and here is a break down of this strategy.
Step 1
Top up Tiktok ad balance with at least a minimum of $100.
Tiktok will pause your ads once you’ve spent all your balance, so watch your balance to ensure that you top it up as necessary.
Step 2
Create 3 ad groups (each having 2 ads with 2 unique creatives respectively)
Each of the ad should;
- Target a broad audience of age 18 to 55+, all genders and the countries where you want to sale your product.
- Have a daily budget of $40
- Have a caption that is not salesy. Avoid putting things like free shipping, 80% off etc. keep it short, fun and simple. Use a personal avatar. That is a person’s profile selfie and not a company’s logo, to make the ad appear like it’s been run from a personal account and not a Business Account.
To make creating these ad groups faster. You can create the first ad group, having two ads with two unique creatives respectively then duplicate the first ad group x 2. Change the Creatives in the duplicated ad groups to unique Creatives.
Step 3
Duplicate the 3 ad groups x 2
Do not change anything else.
Now you have a total of = 9 ad groups and 6 unique creatives
Step 4
Apply the $5 dollar rule. which means kill any ad that spends up to $5 and get the following metrics;
more than $1 Cost per click (CPC)
less than 2.5% Click through rate (CTR)
more than $6 Cost per thousand impression (CPM)
